DXDS – Di Xylene Di Sulphide

Di Xylene Di Sulphide or DXDS is used in high pressure method where the steam pressure goes up to 600PSI and temperature up to 250 Degree Celsius to 280 Degree Celsius and in this process underground Autoclave(fixed) is used.The second fraction with lower disulphides is separated and offered as DADS which can be used as reclaiming agent at about 0.8% to 1.0% depending upon the quality of scrap-processing conditions and oils used.

Di-Aryl-Sulphide produced by conversion of any of the group as Benzene-Toluene-Xylene: single or a mixture. In India, the most commonly adopted technology is to convert mixed Xylenes, which gives a mixed type of Di- Xylene –Disulphide.
